Your child will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), a state mandated standardized test, April 3-5. We would like to encourage you to make sure that your child is present on the testing dates. We will be testing from 8:30 until 10:00 each morning.
Taking standardized tests can cause stress for some students. Below are some test-taking tools that parents can use in order to reduce the level of stress your child may feel:
Talk to your child about the upcoming tests and the importance of doing
Peak performance often depends on how a student feels physically and
mentally. It is always a smart idea to have your child go to bed early the
night before testing and eat a good breakfast each morning.
Make sure that your child gets to school on time or even a little early.
Getting to school late can cause certain students to feel
Allow your child to choose appropriate or comfortable clothes to wear.
Help your child maintain a positive attitude about taking standardized tests.
